Human videos become practice for humanoid partners

What changedHumiTransfer converts ordinary videos of two people into physically constrained human-humanoid motion. It preserves contact, balance and spatial relationships, then retargets one participant to different robot bodies. The team processed 1,200 videos into about 500,000 frames for two humanoid designs.

Simulation comparisons show human-humanoid contact errors in prior methods and contact preserved by HumiTransfer.

The useful part

Why it matters

Humanoids could learn coordinated motion such as handshakes or dancing from abundant human video instead of collecting every pairing on hardware.

Keep in mind

Good to know

Most evidence is reconstruction, retargeting and author evaluation. Generated interaction data is not proof of safe, natural behavior around people.
