A tiny drone trains without rendering every frame

What changedA new simulator creates event-camera signals directly from geometry and motion in 17 microseconds, more than 400 times faster than the cited rendering pipeline. A 1.2MB policy trained this way ran onboard a 56-gram Crazyflie and completed 14 of 17 reported physical flights without external positioning.

A figure shows a 56-gram Crazyflie, fast event-frame training and zero-shot deployment in a physical obstacle course.

The useful part

Why it matters

Small drones can train obstacle avoidance quickly and carry the finished controller without a remote computer.

Keep in mind

Good to know

The physical test is small and structured; performance across messier clutter, lighting and motion remains unproven.
